HYDERABAD, May 26: Sindh Taraqqi-Pasand Party (STP) Chairman Dr Qadir Magsi warned on Saturday that his party would resist any bid to stop Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan from coming to Hyderabad to attend the STP’s All-Parties Conference on Sunday.

Mr Magsi said at a hurriedly-called press conference that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had started holding rallies in Karachi and Hyderabad to prevent Imran Khan from attending the APC and sabotage the conference.

He said that Imran Khan was the guest of the party hence it was its responsibility to escort him from Karachi to Hyderabad and back to Karachi. If any action was taken against the guest, the STP would retaliate, he warned.

He cautioned that the MQM was trying to create May 12 like situation in Hyderabad. “We are fully alive to the situation," Mr Magsi said and added that the APC would not be postponed.

The administration had already been informed about the conference and it was now their duty to make arrangements for the security of the guests, he said.
