KARACHI: Strict security for highways ordered

KARACHI, May 26: Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister for Home Affairs, Waseem Akhtar, has directed the inspector general of police and all the regional, district and taluka police officers of the province to intensify measures at the highways and link roads in their respective areas for the security of passengers.

Taking serious notice of increasing incidents of highway robberies despite police convoys, he asked for increased patrols.

He issued these directives after receiving reports of the looting of a convoy of buses, trucks and coaches near Jacobabad.—PPI
