38 bonded peasants freed

By Our Correspondent

SANGHAR, May 25: Khipro police on Friday found 38 people, including women and children of a peasant family, in a bonded labour camp maintained a landlord on his farmland in Dhalyar village near Khipro.

Police raided on the camp on the orders of district and sessions judge of Khipro Kausar Sultana Hussain. Peasants Resham Oad and Soomro Bheel had requested the judge for the release of their relatives from the camp.

They stated in their application that landlord Aslam Kaimkhani had detained several members of their family and was forcing them to work on his farmland.

Police will produce the freed people in court on Saturday.
