KARACHI, May 25: Three ships carrying containers and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources. The port during the last two days witnessed an inward rush of cement loaders as three ships arrived on Thursday while two vessels were already busy in loading the commodity and another was due on Saturday.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, Red Sea Spirit, Al-Wakra to load cement, Conti Harmony and Comorin Pride to unload and load containers, Johar and Overeas Primar, oil tankers.
Sailing was also fairly active as eight ships, Oel Esteem, Hyundai Future, Y.M. Sun, Comorin Pride, Thor Falcon, Orionis, C. Glaxy and Taylor left the port, while Stella-M, Conti Harmony, Jebal Ali, Al-Wakra and Johar are due to sail out on Saturday.
A total tonnage of 74,414 tons comprising 31,401 tons of export cargo including 1,111 tons of rice and 2,353 tons of cement and 43,013 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Swat with crude oil, Corin Thaikos with containers and Zahar-4 to load cement.
