Ammunition, arms seized by police

PESHAWAR, May 24: Acting on information received by them, the Peshawar city police recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from a bus on Thursday.

Capital City Police Officer Abdul Majeed Marwat got a tip-off according to which arms and ammunition were being shifted to Peshawar through a bus.

The police intercepted the vehicle at Bazidkhel on the Kohat road and recovered the weapons which were hidden in secret compartments of the bus.

The weapons seized included a Kalashnikov, two repeater rifles, two pistols and about 1,600 rounds of ammunition. The driver — Nadeem, a resident of Darra Adamkhel — was taken into custody.—APP
