Missing man’s body fished out of channel

By Our Correspondent

ATTOCK, May 24: Divers fished out the body of an elderly man from the Ghazi Barotha Hydropower Project’s channel Wednesday evening.

Afsar Chaudhry, 62, was reported missing from Ghorghusti village on May 13. The man was also stated to be mentally ill.

Some locals had informed Mr Chaudhry’s family that they last saw the old man close to the Ghazi Barotha channel after which the GBHP authorities were contacted to carry out a search.

After a few days of search, divers fished out the body from the channel near the power house and handed it over to the victim’s family.
