HYDERABAD, May 24: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil on Thursday directed the Water And Sanitation Agency (Wasa) to solve growing complaints about shortage of drinking water in Paretabad, Hala Naka, Tando Yousuf, Gujrati Para, American Quarters, Hali Road and their adjoining localities.

The nazim said after inspecting under-construction filter plants, water supply lines and lagoons that the agency should install additional turbines at Paretabad water works and raise the number of pumping machines at Hala Naka to increase supply of water.

He directed the officials concerned to step up pace of work on under-construction filter plants at Hala Naka and Paretabad urged them to work round the clock in shifts to solve complaints about shortage of drinking water.

The district nazim was accompanied by District Naib Nazim Zafar Rajput, City Taluka Nazim Javed Jabbar and concerned officers of the district government during his visit.
