KARACHI, May 24: The Working Women Organization Trust has called for giving due rights to women and cottage industry workers, and demanded equal wages for male and female workers.
Recommending the pre-budget recommendations put forward here on Thursday, the Trust maintained that keeping in view the ever-increasing number of women workers in the country, separate buses should be operated for them for their protection against harassment.
It urged all organisations having women staff to arrange for pick and drop facility for them and to establish day-care centres for their children as provided under the relevant law.
It also suggested grant of long-term soft loans, as well as technical training, marketing skill development, etc, for working women. It demanded that working women’s income be exempted from taxes and free medical facility be extended to female workers and their families.
