KARACHI, May 24: The Sindh Minister for Local Government, Katchi Abadis and Spatial Development, Mohammad Hussain Khan, has said that the Pakhtuns have played a vital role in the uplift of Karachi and their services will be required for making the city a mega city of the world.

He said this while talking to a 25-member delegation of Reti Line, an old Katchi Abadi of Clifton led by Habibur Rehman Tanoli. UC Nazim Clifton Mohammad Khalil was also present on the occasion.

The minister said that the incident of May 12 was a result of a conspiracy hatched by those who were against the rapid uplift of Karachi.

He charged that the elected representatives of Pakhtuns and other linguistic groups never initiated any sincere effort to resolve the problems of the masses and their attitude was the root cause of grievances of people.

The minister said his party was working for the resolution of the problems of the common man without any discrimination, while traditional religious and political parties were trying to create rift amongst various sections of the society.

Mr Habib Tanoli said Reti Line was an old Katchi Abadi and the representatives elected from this area never bothered to provide lease to its residents.—PPI
