KARACHI: Case against Al Qaeda suspect put off

KARACHI, May 22: A division bench of the Sindh High Court comprising Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Justice Gulzar Ahmed on Tuesday adjourned till June 4 the hearing of a case against Wasif Farooqui, a student of the Polytechnic College, Nazimabad, who was arrested for allegedly maintaining contacts with Al Qaeda.

Defence counsel Maqboolur Rehman submitted that the court must be informed from where and when Wasif had been arrested. The prosecution side informed the court that there were ‘solid matters’ substantiating the involvement of the accused in certain cases of terrorism that would be produced before the court during the next hearing. — Online
