KARACHI: ANP leaders visit Bilawal House, JI office

KARACHI, May 22: Awami National Party chief Senator Asfandyar Wali Khan on Tuesday visited Bilawal House to meet Pakistan People’s Party leader Syed Qaim Ali Shah. He was accompanied by ANP Sindh President Shahi Syed, General Secretary Amin Khattak and other party colleagues.

Senator Raza Rabbani, Aftab Shabaan Mirani, Sherry Rehman, Prof N.D. Khan, Rashid Rabbani, Rafiq Engineer, Waqar Mehdi, Qadir Patel and a large number of PPP leaders and workers were present on the occasion.

The ANP leaders condoled with the hosts the death of PPP workers in the May 12 violence in Karachi.

Sherry Rehman briefed the ANP leaders about the May 12 events. Later, fateha was offered for the departed souls.

A strong contingent of security forces remained present around the Bilawal House during the ANP leaders’ visit.

Earlier, Senator Asfandyar Wali Khan visited Jamaat-i-Islami office, Idara Noor-i-Haq, and condoled with the JI leaders Asadullah Bhutto, Niamatullah Khan and others the death of MMA workers in the May 12 tragedy. Fateha was offered for the departed souls.

The ANP and MMA leaders discussed the tragedy and the situation arising out of it. They pledged to jointly foil all conspiracies to disturb peace in Karachi and provoke ethnic violence in the city.

Asadullah Bhutto, Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqiui, Siddique Rathore and Qari Usman also spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Karachi Bar Association headed by its General Secretary Naeem Qureshi called on PPP General Secretray Jehangir Badar, Syed Qaim Ali Shah and other leaders at the People’s Secretariat on Tuesday and condoled with them the death of PPP workers on May 12. PPP Karachi President Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Rafiq Engineer and Saeed Ghani were present on the occasion. They offered fateha for the departed souls and prayed for the early recovery of the injured workers.
