Akbar slams century

KARACHI, May 21: Akbar Khan blasted a superb century as Tooba Sports recorded their second successive victory in the fifth Pak-China Gold Cup cricket tournament, defeating Malir Muslim CC by six wickets at the Tooba Ground on Sunday.

Akbar smashed 11 fours in his 102 as Tooba Sports reached their target of 236 in 32.3 while losing four wickets. Raja Mushtaq (70) and Shamsher Akhtar with unbeaten 45 were the other main scorers.

Earlier, Malir Muslim CC were all out for 234 in 36.1 overs with Shahzad Ahmed (70) being the top scorer.

Meanwhile, Federal CC recorded a 67-run triumph over Sir Syed CC at Tariq Memorial ground. A blistering 71-run knock by Azam Khan for the victors was the highlight of the match.
