LAHORE, May 21: Shahid Hanif with two-day aggregate 133 won the second leg of the Lahore Gymkhana golf league at the Lahore Gymkhana course on Monday.

Though Shahid does not enjoy national ranking, the young professional played beautifully to gain a distinct edge of seasoned campaigner like Matloob Ahmed, Akhtar Ali and Abbas Ali.

In the first round Shahid played a round of 67 and on the final day, he scored 66 with birdies on holes 2nd, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 15th, 16th and 17th and just two stroke losses on holes 4th and the 14th.

The nationally recognized Matloob Ahmed and Mohammad Javed were joint runners-up with aggregate of 135 each.

In the amateurs section, 68 players competed but quite a few of the single handicappers performed impressively.

Aadil Jehangir’s performance was promising, as he played perfect golf, hitting with a touch of massive power and following the drives with good approach shots. Aadil ended up as the top amateur, followed by Imran Ahmed, Amir Mehmood and Shakeel Ahmed.
