KARACHI, May 21: Ehtesham Shami produced a splendid all-round show in Zone VI Blues’ 68-run victory over Zone IV Greens in the KCCA Inter Zonal Under-19 Cricket Championship at the Asifabad Ground on Sunday.
Ehtesham scored an unbeaten 30, with his team-mate Bilal Khan smashing 60, as Zone VI Blues scored 220 all out in 45.5 overs. Zone IV Greens’ leg-spinner Ahmed Saleem grabbed 6-71. Ehtesham then captured 6-38 with his off-breaks as Zone IV Greens were dismissed for 152 off 46.3 overs.
Meanwhile, at the TMC Ground, slow left-arm spinner Faraz finished with figures of 6-59 but that was not enough to prevent Zone III Blues from a 41-run defeat at the hands of Zone IV Whites.
Zone IV Whites posted 238 before being dismissed in 49.4 overs. Shahzaib made 92 with four boundaries. Zone III Blues, in reply, were restricted to 197-7 in 50 overs. After a fine batting display Shahzaib got four wickets for 39 with his off-spin.
In another match at the Student Ground, off-spinner Farhad Mirza picked six wickets to bowl Zone VII Whites to a 88-run win over Zone V Blues.
