Impressive win for Khizra Sports


KARACHI, May 21: Tahir Khan registered a five-wicket haul as Khizra Sports thrashed Malir Companion by 171 runs in the NBP-KCCA Super League Colour Kit cricket tournament at the KCCA Stadium on Sunday.

Mansoor Khan hit 66 that included 11 fours and one six while Tariq Haroon made 62 as Khizra Sports, batting first, posted 228 in 44 overs.

Later, Tahir did the job for Khizra Sports by claiming five wickets for only 14 runs as Malir Companion were bowled out for 57 only.

In the second match, Nazimabad Gymkhana defeated Jinnah Cricket Club by 156 runs. Athar Abid’s 63 and identical figures of 4-26 by spinners Saad and Mansoor Ahmed for the winners were the highlight of the match.

Meanwhile, in the last match of the day, a brilliant century by Faraz Malik steered A O Blues Cricket Club to a big 101-run win over Rising Star Cricket Club at Landhi Gymkhana. Faraz smashed 12 boundaries and five sixes in his match-winning 112.
