KARACHI, May 21: Pakistan People’s Party Vice-Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim will soon meet the heirs of those killed on May 12 and pay compensation to them and the PPP workers injured in the mayhem.
“We’ll not accept the government’s compensation for the human and financial losses,” Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh PPP president said at a press conference at Bilawal House on Monday.
Maintaining that the government was involved in armed attacks on the opposition party workers, he said the PPP had decided not to accept the compensation.
The government’s compensatory cheques for the victims were earlier rejected by the Awami National Party.
“The PPP will help its supporters who suffered losses in armed attacks but we don’t want to exhibit this help,” Mr Shah said.
Also present at the press conference were Prof N.D. Khan and Nafees Siddiqui.
