ISLAMABAD, May 19: Mediapersons here on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against the attack by unidentified persons on Sana News editor Shakeel Ahmad Turabi.

About 50-60 journalists from different newspapers and news agencies gathered in front of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Press Club camp office and demanded that the government should ensure protection to the community.

The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with anti-government slogans and demands to stop terrorism against journalists.

Meanwhile, till filing of this report, the Margalla police had not registered a case in this regard, as the statement of Mr Turabi had not yet been recorded.
