Zohaib, Saeed excel at KCCA zonal event


KARACHI, May 17: Zohaib Shera and Saeed Mutabbir recorded five-wicket hauls to bowl their respective teams to impressive victories in the KCCA Inter Zonal Under-19 Championship on Wednesday.

Zohaib claimed 5-67 as Zone II Whites defeated Zone V Blues by nine wickets at the Student Ground.

At the TMC Ground Saeed Mutabbir picked five wickets for nine runs and Sheraz Ali chipped in with 4-14 to help Zone II Blues thrash Zone VI Greens by ten wickets.

In another match at the KCCA Stadium, Zone III Whites outplayed Zone VI Blues by 60 runs. Shan Masood hit a match-winning 61.

ZONE V BLUES 117 in 27.2 overs (Mahboob Noor 20, Kamran Ali 18; Zohaib Shera 5-67, Latif Junejo 2-36); ZONE II WHITES 118-1 in 15.1 overs (Ali Asad 73, Aamir Hasan 19).

ZONE VI GREENS 55 in 22.1 overs (Muzammil Ali 14; Saeed Mutabbir 5-9, Sheraz Ali 4-14); ZONE II BLUES 56-0 in 9.5 overs (Naeemullah 23 not out, Basit Malik 21 not out).
