LAHORE, May 17: Teachers and doctors on Thursday joined lawyers’ rally on The Mall to protest against the May 12 Karachi carnage and ongoing judicial crisis. Hundreds of political workers and rights activists also attended the rally and demanded President Musharraf to step down forthwith and restore democratic set up in country.

A rally led by Lahore Bar Association was taken out from Aiwan-i-Adl, which was joined at Nasser Bagh by the political parties, including the PPP, the PML-N, the MMA, the Labour Party Pakistan, the Islami Jamiat Talaba and the Khaksar Tehrik. Lawyers and members of the teachers and doctors associations joined the rally at GPO Chowk. In the absence of LHCBA president Ahsan Bhoon, secretary Sarfraz Cheema led the rally.
