HYDERABAD, May 17: Under the guidance of Sindh University’s bureau of translation and publication, translation of 14 manuscripts has been completed and the books are ready for publication.

This was said by the director of the bureau, Dr Ali Murtaza Dharejo, at a meeting of university officials. The meeting was presided over by vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui and attended by adviser, planning and development, Mohammad Hussain Shaikh, the manager of the university’s printing press and others.

Dr Dharejo said that the bureau could enhance quality of these books and others in pipeline if new printing machines were installed at the press. He said that the PC-1 the bureau had submitted to the university authorities envisaged purchase of new machines for the press.

The meeting decided to upgrade the press with modern machinery and equipment for printing university's material on time.

The press manager briefed the meeting about available printing machines and their output. He suggested repair of available machines and purchase of new ones, saying that new machines would enhance performance of the press.

Mr Shaikh, in his report, said that the bureau’s PC-1 would be submitted to the Higher Education Commission. The vice chancellor directed the adviser to revise the PC-I before it was presented to the commission.

AYAZ AUDITORIUM: The University of Sindh has named its arts faculty auditorium as Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium in pursuance of a recent decision of the university syndicate.

Registrar Mohammad Saleh Rajar issued a notification to this effect on Thursday.
