Power project

ISLAMABAD, May 17: Atlas Power Limited, a company of the Atlas Group, on Thursday signed two contracts for engineering, procurement and construction and operation and maintenance of a 225-MW power plant with MAN Diesel SE Germany and MAN Diesel North America, respectively.

This power plant, part of the government’s fast track initiative, is being established at Sheikupura and will be commissioned by March 2009.

The signing ceremony was held after the 70th meeting of the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) held here under the chairmanship of Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi.—APP
