NEW DELHI, May 16: Late Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer's widow has insisted that her husband did not die of natural causes but was murdered though she doesn’t have a clue who would have done it.
"He was murdered - but I don't have a clue who would do it," Gill was quoted as saying by The Sun website.
In a report published in the British tabloid, Gill Woolmer said that Bob had to be subdued because he was a big man and would have defended himself well.
"Bob must have been subdued because he was a big man and able to defend himself. But who would do it? The average person would not go to such extremes," Gill said.
Deputy Commissioner of Jamaican Police Mark Shields recently met Gill and briefed her on the investigations made so far. Gill, however, rubbished the notion that her husband was about to blow the whistle on match-fixing. She also denied that her husband was set to expose match-fixing in his book.—Agencies
