SAHIWAL, May 16: People in Waziristan, Karak and other tribal areas are not fighting against the Talibans, but they are at war with the US and the Pakistan army.

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan revealed this while addressing lawyers of the local district bar association here on Wednesday.

He said the US-sponsored war against the terror had in fact triggered terrorism in the country and nobody considered himself safe.

The PTI chief said that only dialogues could resolve the crisis in Balochistan and tribal areas while the army operation would only complicate the problem.

He alleged that MQM chief Altaf Hussain and Gen Pervez Musharraf were jointly working on the propagation of terrorism in the country.

Mr Khan demanded an independent election commission for holding free, fair and transparent elections under the 1973 Constitution.

He also visited the DHQ Hospital and inquired after the health of lawyers who had sustained injuries when police attacked on their rally on May 4.

OKARA: PTI chief Imran Khan said that Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry had awoken the whole nation by refusing to bow to the rulers’ pressure.

He said this while addressing some 800 lawyers of the local district bar association here on Wednesday.

DBA president Malik Maqbool Hussain Shakir and PTI’s Punjab chief Ihsan Rashid were also present.
