KARACHI: Hearing of PSO bidding case put off

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 16: Advocate Khalid Anwer concluded his arguments in a suit instituted by the Attock Group of Companies against its exclusion from bidding for the Pakistan State Oil.

The plaintiff says that it was being kept away from the privatisation on bogus pretexts despite its creditable track record. Bidding is scheduled for May 19.

Justice Qaiser Iqbal adjourned the hearing to May 18 for arguments by counsel for the defendants.

NOTICE TO KPT: The bench comprising Justices Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Ali Sain Dino Metlo issued notices to the Karachi Port Trust and other respondents for May 22 in a petition moved by the sons of former navy officer, who served the KPT for 14 years but was denied pension. The petitioners submitted that their father made a representation against non-payment of pension but died in 1996 while it was still pending.
