KARACHI, May 16: Nazim of Landhi Town Syed Asif Hasnain has said that the Haq Parast leadership has carried out more development works in areas where they have no vote bank than that of others.

During a visit to one of the development project’s site on Tuesday, the town nazim referred to laying and repair of sewerage lines in Union Councils 1-5 on which millions of rupees had been spent.

In addition, he also referred to replacement and repair of pumping station machinery at Future Mor and a pumping station near Hospital Chowrangi that remained unused for years and said this would help increase water supply to Punjabi, Pakhtoon and other abadis nearby.

During his visit, he also inspected various projects such as the under construction Nadra office, work on Dhobi Ghat drain, model dustbins, 30,000sq feet road from 1-4/C, Block-24 to Gulshan Market I Area.

He directed that the emphasis must be laid on the quality and warned that those who indulged in sub-standard and defective works would be black listed.

While Nazim SITE Town, Izharuddin Ahmed Khan, held a meeting with the managements of union councils’ (UCs) schools and asked them to improve the condition of schools as well as the quality of education.

Expressing concern over dilapidated condition of school buildings, Izharuddin said it was responsibility of the managements to provide conducive environment to children.

Meanwhile, Baldia Town Nazim Kamran Akhtar asked people to protect uplift works being carried out in their areas as it was suspected that conspiracies were being hatched against the ongoing development process.

He said over Rs1.5 billion had been spent on water, sewerage, roads, street lights so that people.

Similarly Nazim Orangi Town, Mohammed Arif Khan, ordered a drive against stray dogs and formed special teams for this purpose. On his directive, Solid Waste Management Department started the anti-stray dog campaign in all the UCs.—APP
