PESHAWAR, May 15: NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai on Tuesday condemned the bomb blast in the city and urged the people to avoid violence.
In a statement issued here, the governor, who is abroad on a private visit, said the terrorists involved in this heinous crime would be brought to the court of law.
He appealed the people to observe patience and cooperate with law-enforcement agencies.
He expressed sympathies with families of the victims and prayed that Allah Almighty may rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with patience and fortitude.
App Adds: NWFP acting governor Justice Tariq Pervez Khan described the incident as the worst act of terrorism and assured that terrorists involved in the blast would be punished.
Federal Minister for Political Affairs Amir Muqam said the elements involved in the dreadful act of bomb blast were anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Mr Muqam asked the NWFP government to review its security plan as the province had experienced a series of bomb blasts over the past couple of years.
He assured that the federal government would provide all assistance in this respect.
“Terrorists have no religion. They are neither serving Islam nor Pakistan,” he added.
He said that families of the deceased and injured would be compensated.
