Ministry accused of favouritism

By Baqir Sajjad Syed

ISLAMABAD, May 15: Federal health ministry has revised the qualification requirements for drug officials allegedly to regularise the appointment of the drug controller.

Degree in pharmacy has so far been a mandatory requirement for drug related jobs in the ministry. However, the incumbent drug controller is a PhD in chemistry and hence did not fulfill the basic requirement for the job.

The appointment regulations clearly mention that only those persons possessing the qualifications and experience prescribed for initial appointment to the concerned position would be considered for posting through transfer.
