GUJRANWALA, May 14: A trader and his two minor sons were allegedly kidnapped for Rs8 million ransom from Kokherki, in crowded area of the city, on Monday. Khalil of Model Town was on his way home along with sons Saud, 7, and Hamad, 5 after meeting his daughter from Kokherki by a car when unidentified people kidnapped them.

Later, they demanded Rs8 million ransom from the family for their release.

Aroop town police are investigating.

ROBBERY: Unidentified gunmen took away Rs1.6 million in cash and 10 cell phones from the offices of an oil company near general bus stand on Monday.

The outlaws came to Muazzam Oil Traders and held owner Abdul Haq, his sons and their staff at gunpoint. They locked them in an adjacent room, collected the cash and the mobile phones and escaped.

Model Town police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, traders protested against rise in robberies and demanded that the accused should be arrested soon.

DEPORTEES HELD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested 84 people who were deported from Turkey on Monday.

They were arrested by the Turkish security forces and sent back to Pakistan.

They told FIA that they had paid heavy sums for going abroad. These deportees belong to Gujranwala division.
