ISLAMABAD, May 14: Much to the confusion and frustration of the affected students, the government is yet to reschedule examination papers of the Intermediate and Matric classes, which were postponed in the tense cities of Karachi and Islamabad, on May 12, it has been learnt.
The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) had cancelled the English ‘B’ paper of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Intermediate) and the Physics practical of the Secondary School Certificate (Matric) in the two cities, which were scheduled for Saturday, May 12, due to security concerns. Examinations were conducted in rest of the country according to the given time-table.
“Until the prevailing circumstances remain unclear, it is not possible for the Board to reschedule dates for the postponed examination papers.
However, the concerned Board officials are continuously brainstorming to work out new dates,” an official requesting anonymity, told Dawn.
Like everybody else in the country, FBISE officials said they too were disturbed over the crisis in Karachi and the ongoing restlessness in Rawalpindi and Islamabad and had no other option but to cancel examinations of the two classes on May 12.
Several concerned parents were continuously inquiring from various information sources if the Board had set another date for the examination.
“It is disturbing as well as painful when I see my son every time inquiring from his classfellows about the new date of his delayed English paper,” Mr Razzaq, a concerned father told Dawn.
