KARACHI, May 14: The Board of Secondary Education on Monday postponed the SSC Part-I (Class IX) annual examinations for one week due to tense law and order situation in the city. The exams would now start on May 22 instead of May 15 (today), officials said.
According to new schedule of SSC-I (Science Group), English paper will be held on May 22, Pakistan Studies (May 25), Chemistry (May 28), Sindhi (May 30), Biology (June 1) and Computer Science (June 4).
For SSC-I (General Group), the board notified that English paper would be held on May 23, Pakistan Studies (May 26), General Science (May 29), Sindhi (May 31) and Mathematics (June 2).
Meanwhile the practical exam of the SSC Part-II (Class X) has been rescheduled to June 7, according to the Board of Secondary Education officials.
CAMBRIDGE: A senior official of the A-level and O-level examination system said the Cambridge International Exams (CIE) was held on Monday as per schedule.
“The CIE of May-June session was held as per schedule on Monday in the city and would be held on Tuesday without interruption,” Asim Khan, Director CIE (Sindh and Balochistan), told Dawn.
According to him, 100 per cent attendance at all the eight examination centres was witnessed on Monday.
Schools, colleges: Sindh Education Secretary Sabhago Khan Jatoi has said all the educational institutions would resume functioning from Tuesday.
“All the schools and colleges will be opened on Tuesday as the situation in the city has become normal,” he said adding that the authorities concerned meticulously monitored the situation and decided to reopen the educational institutions.
