Port Qasim

KARACHI, May 14: The shipping activity remained moderate at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours where one ship scheduled to offload chemicals berthed at Engro Vopak Chemical Terminal on Sunday.

Meanwhile, two container vessels also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim over the period.

M.V Yanaseni sailed on Monday morning.

Berth occupancy was fairly okay as five out of nine berths depicting 56 per cent berth occupancy was observed on Monday.

Currently five vessels, namely Yanaseni, Sargodha, Addu Star, Afamia and New Leader, are occupying berths loading/ discharging rice, wheat, cement and chemicals and iron ore, respectively.

Moderate cargo handling was observed at the Port where 14169 tons cargo, comprising 2700 ton MEG and 11469 tons iron ore, exclusively imports, was handled.

Four ships Maersk Dhaka, Sita Maria, Integrity and Acx Lavendar are expected to take berths at Marginal Wharf, Fotco and QICT respectively, on Monday.
