LAHORE, May 13: Shoaib Hassan and Farzan Rasheed, both from Punjab, cruised into the U-19 boys' singles final in the national junior squash championship at Punjab Squash Complex on Sunday.

In girls' U-19 section, Zoyad Khalid play Aliya Sarfraz in another all-Punjab final.

Farzan faced some resistance before toppling Zaheer Shah (PAF) in a four-game semi-final in 78 minutes.

Farzan won 6-9, 9-1, 10-9, 9-4.

Shoaib came out as easy winner against Alamzeb Junior (PAF) recording 9-6, 9-8, 10-9 win.

Zoyad proved too strong for Andaleeb, winning the one-sided semi-final with the score of 9-3, 9-1, 9-5.

She took only 17 minutes to decide the final. Aliya also proved a strong contender for Hina Bashir (Sindh) as she spent only 10 minutes on the court to win with the score of 9-1, 9-0, 9-0.

The boys and girls U-15 events have also entered the final stage. Besides it, the boys’ U-11 and 13 also reached the final stage.

Boys’ U-13: Bilal Zakir (PAF) bt Fazal Mehboob 9-9, 9-5, 9-0; Ali Bukhari (Punjab) bt Arslan Bhatti (Punjab) 9-7, 9-4, 9-1.

Boys’ U-15: Waqas Mehboob (PAF) bt Nasir Iqbal (PAF) 9-0, 9-7, 9-0; Danish Atlas (NWFP) bt Hamza Bukhari (Punjab) 9-5, 9-5, 9-0.

Boys’ U-19: Farzan Rasheed (Punjab) bt Zaheer Shah (PAF) 6-9, 9-1, 10-9, 9-4 Shoaib Hassan (Punjab) bt Alamzeb Jnr (PAF) 9-6, 9-8, 10-9.

Girls U-15: Roshan Mehboob (Punjab) bt Sana Shahid (Punjab) 9-0, 9-0, 9-1; Habiba Khan (Sindh) bt Arooma (Punjab) 9-0, 9-0, 9-0.

Girls’ U-19: Zoyad Khalid (Punjab) bt Andaleeb (Punjab) 9-3, 9-1, 9-5; Aliya Sarfraz (Punjab) bt Hina Bashir (Sindh) 9-1, 9-0, 9-0.
