Fazl blames MQM for violence

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, May 13: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman has held the Muttahida Qaumi Movement responsible for the violence in Karachi, saying the plan for the killings in the city had been prepared in London.

He said at a function in Hayatabad, Peshawar, on Sunday that the opposition had advised the government and the MQM to postpone their rallies and allow Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to address members of the Sindh High Court Association.

Maulana Fazl said that on May 25, the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal would hold a consultative session in Islamabad on the emerging political scenario. He said all opposition parties had been invited to the programme.

He said the six-party alliance would take a caravan from Rawalpindi to Lahore on May 25 and would also visit major cities of the four provinces.
