MIRPURKHAS May 13. Two people were injured, one of them critically, when armed men opened fire near taxi-stand on the Umerkot road here on Sunday.

Reports said that a group of armed people came to the taxi-stand and started firing. Shakir Baloch and Mohammad Nawaz sustained bullet injuries.

They were rushed to Civil Hospital where they were provided first aid. Shakir Baloch was referred to Hyderabad due to his precarious condition.

The motive behind the incident was said to be a dispute between Shakir Baloch and a sugarcane juice seller.

On the complaint of Ibrahim, uncle of injured Shakir, the Town police lodged a case under section 324, 147,148 and 149 PPC against Mohammad Usman, Ather Khan, Rizwan, Javed and Maqsood.

No arrest was reported till the filing of this report.
