QUETTA, May 11: The Kharan tehsil nazim has accused the district government of embezzling Rs100 million and demanded that the provincial government should investigate the scam.
Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Friday, Mir Mohammad Juma Kabdani alleged that the Kharan district coordination officer had allotted 21 acres of state land in violation of rules to a former minister who is father of the sitting home minister.
He said that the Kharan district was among the under-developed areas of Balochistan.
Mir Juma said that it was responsibility of the government to hold an inquiry into the matter and expose corrupt officials who were looting government money.
The tehsil nazim said that development projects had been completed only on paper.
He added the people of Kharan lacked basic amenities although funds had been provided by the federal government.
He also alleged that about one acre of land meant for a Christian graveyard had been allotted to an influential person to set up a private school.
