Acquisition

LONDON, May 11: British private equity group Terra Firma swooped into the aviation sector on Friday to become the world’s third-biggest aircraft leasing operator, snapping up US firm Pegasus for $5.2bn. The transaction marked the latest global expansion of the rapidly-growing private equity arena, and will build on Terra Firma’s 2006 acquisition of Dublin-based jet leasing platform AWAS.—AFP
