KASUR, May 10: Around 7,000 people of the Kasur district will participate in the rally and the ruling PML has arranged around 300 buses for the purpose. Out of the total vehicles, 30 would be given to five MNAs and 15 to 10 MPAs. While Tehsil Nazim Agha Naweed Hashim Rizvi, who has recently joined the PML, will get 50 vehicles. At least Rs100 will be given to each participant for refreshment.

Sources said the district administration through its EDOs and DOs was pressurizing government employees, including teachers, patwaris, lady health workers and Wapda officials, to attend the rally.

A Phoolnagar union council nazim said that he and other nazims were facing difficulties in collecting farmers due to the wheat-harvesting season.

The ADLG directed the AEOs to ensure the presence of all teachers at 9am in the ground of Government Model High School to get further instructions.

Requesting anonymity, a teacher said that schools across the district would likely to be closed on Friday and Saturday.

The TMA has also been asked to bring its employees, including sweepers, to the rally.

PML office bearers Haji Muhammad Asif Saeed, Haji Muhammad Rasheed and Muhammad Iqbal Sukhera claimed that a caravan of least 10,000 lovers of Gen Pervez Musharraf would leave for Islamabad under the leadership of federal minister Asif Nakai.

A source said that 100 buses from each of the three police stations of Pattoki would participate in the rally.

A lambardar said the district government had announced one LG cell phone and Rs8,000 in cash for each lambardar for filling these buses with farmers.

District Naib Nazim Haji Maqsood Sabir Ansari said that the Punjab PML would bear the expenses of 300 buses. He said owner of each bus would be paid Rs12,000.

The district nazim, however, denied that government servants were being forced to attend the rally.
