LAKKI MARWAT, May 9: The District Budget and Development Committee here on Wednesday approved 40 uplift schemes which would be completed by the Citizen Community Boards (CCBs) at a cost of over Rs10 million.

The schemes were approved at a meeting held at the office of the district coordination officer. District Nazim Humayun Saifullah Khan presided over the meeting which was attended, among others, by District Naib Nazim Qudratullah Khan, acting DCO Syed Khalid Israr Shah, EDO (Finance and Planning) Naimatullah Khan and EDO (Social Welfare and Community Development) Shafqat Amin.

The schemes pertain to water supply, communications, livestock, sanitation and other sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, the district nazim said carrying out development works through community boards was aimed at ensuring community participation in the development process.
