KARACHI: Sellers of impure water warned

KARACHI, May 9: Sindh Minister for Environment and Alternative Energy Dr Saghir Ahmed has said that the government has decided to take action against those companies selling impure mineral water to citizens.

While talking to a delegation from the interior of Sindh, which called on him at his office on Wednesday, he appealed to the masses to consume mineral water that fulfilled the Pakistan Quality Control standards.

He noted that waterborne diseases were spreading in the province due to consumption of contaminated and impure water. He said some greedy businessmen were selling substandard bottled water to citizens.

He said impure bottled water was being sold out at hospitals and public places.

Dr Saghir said the government would never allow businessmen to play havoc with the health of citizens. He asked shopkeepers not to buy impure mineral water.—PPI
