Dollar slips

LONDON, May 9: The dollar weakened slightly on Wednesday, having remained in narrow trading ranges against major currencies for most of the day as markets waited for a Federal Open Market Committee meeting and the US central bank's outlook statement.

The euro inched up to $1.3547 in late European trading from $1.3542 in New York late on Tuesday.

The dollar stood at 119.81 yen, compared with 120.00 yen on Tuesday. The euro changed hands at $1.3547, against $1.3542 late Tuesday, 162.30 yen (162.54), 0.6787 pounds (0.6806) and 1.6484 Swiss francs (1.6498).
