Pietersen faces injury scare

LONDON, May 8: Kevin Pietersen has strained his calf a week before England's first Test against the West Indies starting at Lord’s on May 17.

The batsman was hurt while fielding in Monday’s one-day match between Hampshire and Ireland. He will miss Hampshire's four-day match against Lancashire starting on Wednesday as a precaution. The ECB said on Tuesday Pietersen had undergone an MRI scan.—AP
