KARACHI, May 8: Four ships carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with chemicals and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Ten ships, Maersk Carolina, Baghdad, Hyderabasd, Pontokratis, Doris, Port Land Bay, AL-Maqwa, Golden Glory, Liquid Success and Capt. George-L, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, canola seeds, diesel oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 88,307 tons comprising 69,697 tons of import and 28,868 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were active as Briana, Baghdad, Liquid Success and Golden Glory left the port while Maersk Carolina, AL- Maqwa, Pontokratis and Doris were due to depart.
