LAHORE, May 6: A mentally-retarded prisoner was handed over to his Karachi-based family by the Edhi Foundation here on Sunday.

India had handed over six Pakistani prisoners, including three mentally-ill prisoners, to the Ranger officials some three days back.

According to a release issued by an Edhi Foundation spokesman, the Rangers handed over three mentally sick prisoners Haji, son of Dhani Baksh, Abdul Razzaq and Jehangir Shah, son of Nawab Shah, to Edhi Foundation officials at Wagah border.

All prisoners were given meal by the Edhi Foundation.

Edhi officials gave prizes and cash to Jehangir on behalf of Abdul Sattar Edhi. Jahangir’s brother, who came from Karachi, received prizes and the cash amount.

The spokesman has asked the family of Haji of Mitthi district, Sindh, and Razzaq of Rahim Yar Khan to contact them on telephone number 5758681. —Staff Reporter
