Rs10.4 million for facelift of special children’s school

ATTOCK, May 5: The Punjab government has allocated Rs10.4 million for the construction of nine additional class rooms of Deaf and Dumb School Attock and its renovation.

Deaf and Dumb School principal Ms Najma Shaheen told local newsmen here that nine additional classrooms including a sound proof room for teaching of special children would be constructed besides renovating the entire school building to improve its condition.

She said construction work would be started soon after receiving the amount form the Punjab government and after completion of the project maximum number of special children of the district would get the education facilities.

She said that salient feature of this project is construction of a sound proof room, at a cost of Rs0.369 million, which was long-standing need for the proper teaching of special children in noise-free environment.

She said the Punjab government had also granted Rs16.3 million last year for the extension of school building and provision of equipments and other education facilities. Now with the fresh allocation of more funds of Rs10.4 million, the remaining needs and deficiencies of school would be met to benefit the special children of the district, she claimed.

She thanked the district government Attock for taking personal interest in getting the amount allocated by the Punjab government and extending it cooperation for the provision of necessary facilities for this institution, otherwise all of it was not possible.
