KARACHI, May 5: The outgoing president of Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF) Vice Admiral Sikandar Viqar Naqvi has asked senior sailors to take up coaching and groom youngsters.

“It’s time that those who have past their prime should now make room for youths,” he told a select gathering at a reception held to bade him farewell at the National Sailing Centre on Saturday.

He is to retire as Commander Karachi on Wednesday, a position which makes him eligible to head PSAF. He served PSAF for little over a year.

Also present on the occasion was Rear Admiral Bakhtiar Mohsin who is to succeed him as COMKAR.

The PSAF chief said he did his utmost to promote the sport in which Pakistan had won many laurels in the past.

Earlier, secretary general, PSAF, Commander (r) Navaid Usmani eulogised the services of the incumbent. He also presented him a memento on behalf of the PSAF Management Committee.
