KARACHI, May 5: Three-year-old bay filly Phapha Kutni has strong credentials to dominate the feature event when the Gymkhana race meeting takes place at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

With just one exception, she has been on the board with two wins, a second and a third place since the start of the year. In her last run she finished overall four lengths behind Fair Diamond and Captain Black in the Sprinter Cup on April 8.

Her stable mate mare Butter Fly who posted a six lengths victory over Moon Raker last Sunday is also there and it has to be seen that who is on the job. Also in contention are bay Tharkyee and filly Lady Conqueror belonging to one connection.

A card of six races has been drawn for the day with first race starting at 2.30pm.

Four-year-old chestnut colt Red Rufus who failed to make it two on trot in its last appearance is fancied to land the supporting event. He should be chased by chestnut Thanks Naeem and bay colt Shah Pasand for the places. Can’t Catch Me and Jack In The Box are also form horses in the fray.

If tried by connection, four-year-old bay colt Laat Sahib should go all out to pick up spoils in top division of class VII. His performance in the last run led to a hue and cry as angry punters pelted stones in the betting ring. It is hoped that he will be allowed to run on merit and oblige punters this time.

Bay colt Shan-e-Arab and filly Foolish Pleasure are likely to pose challenge to Laat Sahib.

Six-year-old bay Canon Ball who finished off the board in the previous two outings is our fancy in the third race which has a field of 15 runners barring last minute withdrawls.

Chestnut fillies Love Pakistan and Hi Darling should follow him for the places.

Six-year-old bay Charlie and four-year-old bay filly Little Girl are fancied to atone to earlier loss by picking up opening two races.
