KARACHI: Bomb hoax

Published May 5, 2007

KARACHI, May 4: Hundreds of patients, their attendants and visitors were faced with hardship when many wards of the Civil Hospital were evacuated after an anonymous caller told a hospital official that a bomb had been planted somewhere in its vicinity.

The Bomb Disposal Squad was called out while the evacuation was in progress. It took the BDS more than two hours to search the entire hospital but no bomb was found.

Another hoax bomb call was received at the Agha’s Super Market in Clifton. The BDS scanned all shops in the market before giving a clearance. The call stirred great panic among shoppers and shopkeepers and many of them had to run to safety.
