President, PM discuss security situation

ISLAMABAD May 2: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Thursday called on President Gen Pervez Musharraf and they are reported to have discussed the political, security and economic situation.

The president, sources said, briefed the premier on ongoing contacts with certain political leaders, especially on the talks with the PPP leadership.

According to the sources, Prime Minister Aziz and President Gen Musharraf also exchanged views over the law and order situation, with special reference to the Charsadda suicide bombing and reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to fight extremism and terrorism.
