KARACHI: 78 fall prey to street crime

KARACHI, April 30: As many as 78 people were deprived of vehicles or cellular phones at various places here on Monday.

Police sources said 19 vehicles – six cars and 13 motorbikes – were either hijacked or stolen. They said that two cars were taken away by bandits at gunpoint and four others stolen. Seven motorcycles were hijacked and six others stolen.

Similarly, 29 people complained that they were intercepted by bandits and deprived of their cellphones, cash and belongings at gunpoint. Thirty others reported that their cellphones had been stolen.
