KARACHI, April 28: Five ships carrying DAP fertiliser, and to load cement and pig iron are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Iran Tabatbaei, to load containers, Iron Butterfly to unload and load general cargo and Johar, to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of as many.
The ships, which departed included Huyutech, Iron Butterfly and Shalamar, while Oel Express, Raya and Johar are due to sail out on Sunday.
A total tonnage of 95,663 tons comprising 29,629 tons of export cargo, including 5,003 tons of cement and 1,593 tons of wheat and 66,034 tons of imports was handled.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Kama Bhum, Iran Hesabi, with containers, Sea Veteran, with 28,919 tons of DAP fertiliser, Pacific Arrow to load 9,500 tons of cement, and Jan Dlugosz, to load pig iron.
The following ships are due on Monday: Iver Progress, with 5,000 tons of palm, Ms Emen, with tallow and soyabeam oil, Mol Admiration, Cosco Shekou, Victory-1, Comorin Pride, and Kota Perkasa, with containers, Pan Voyager, with rock phosphate, J. coal, Asian Queen and Aqaba Express to load 20,000 and 6,000 tons of cements.
